tonight i joined 14,493 other Australian women who have signed up to the 1 million women campaign and pledged to reduce their CO2 emissions by making simple changes to their daily lives...
if you're a big picture kind of person you can track the campaign status through snapshots... how many women signed up, how many tonnes of carbon emissions pledged etc.
but if you find the big picture a bit overwhelming *information overload* the site breaks things down into baby steps, which i found particularly helpful.
you can start by measuring your current carbon footprint (made super easy.. just bring your current utility bills to the party) with a nice little summary at the end! *scary exciting stuff*
but really the place where its all happening is the activity centre *ooooh* filled with really simple things we can all do every day to reduce our impact. like saying NO to plastic bags and bottled water which can save a staggering 150kg of carbon every year *yikes* washing in cold water and drying your clothes on the line and saving a whopping 400kg every year... but i'm getting carried away... let me know if you sign up and we can get carried away together.
