my cosy DIY sunday

Oh *bliss* a summer storm sunday! cosy craft corners, soft wool, jasmine tea, fluffy cats, neil diamond records and...

latch hook rugs! i've been working on this rug (which looks tiny here but really is quite huge) for eons. many a day i've sat staring at it and wondered if maybe i bit off more than i can chew with this DIY project... but then i fluff it up, spread it out, remember how gorgeous it is and soldier on *just keep looping, just keep looping*

lately i've been putting it aside because its been waaay too sticky to handle wool and hessian, and on the days i've forced myself to work on it for progress sake ive put it on the floor, draped myself over the bed and worked on it from above *cheat* but today! *sigh* today was a hook rug day if ever there was one. i will forever love summer storms and hook rug sundays...

our plastic free Christmas tree gets adorned

i love our Christmas tree! I love the shadows, the twisting cranes, the perfect tiny baubles, the random creaks... i love it all! and i don't really believe you can have too much of a good thing, especially not at Christmas... so in all likely-hood i will be adding 1. a star  2. some lights and most importantly 3. it is absolutely essential that i get some gifts under the tree asahp!

DIY christmas baubles

I have been umming and ahhhing for aaaages about how best to sprucify our DIY plastic free Christmas tree and today the answer literally dropped onto my doorstep...  a pile of green macadamia nut Christmas baubles delivered possum express...

I was hoping i could hang them on the tree and over the month they would ripen, then on Christmas day i could feast on macadamia nuts fresh off the Christmas tree *joy* !!!  but grant (Christmas scrooge) thinks there might be more to it than that... i guess we'll find out in 20 days because they are, along with 30 odd Christmas cranes, hanging from the tree right now!!!

YAY for Sundays!! day of mid morning sleep-ins, quick i'm burning up ice teas, three minute thunder storms and... DIY PROJECTS!!!!!

small leafy twigs (sun baked until crispy and delicious) + medium sized tree limbs = DIY Chrismtas tree

This is it! The sprouting of the 'i made it myself,'  'hold the plastics please' entirely biodegradable, not a drop of glue, doesn't it smell gorgeous, couldn't you just eat it up Christmas tree! I adore it & have already spent a good 3 hours staring at it lovingly.   *sigh* have i mentioned how much i love Christmas?
